All pupils need to attend school regularly, and be absent only for medical reasons. If dental or
hospital appointments have to be in school time, we ask for a letter to be sent beforehand to
the Form Tutor, but as our school day finishes in the early afternoon, medical and dental
appointments can usually be made out of school hours.
After an absence, parents are asked to send an explanatory note to the Tutor on the day of
their child's return. In cases of long absence through illness, a telephone call is appreciated to
let the Tutor know the reason for the absence. If it proves necessary to take family holidays in
term time, parents should complete a leave of absence form which can be obtained from the
school office at least a fortnight in advance.
