Applicants

We welcome applicants from many local schools and some further afield. All students can be assured of a warm and supportive welcome when they join us in Year 12. The John Colet School Sixth Form offers a broad range of enabling subjects, which can facilitate students going on to university to study a huge range of degree courses and which can lead to a diverse range of careers.

Sixth Form Entry September 2020

Students are asked to complete an Expression of Interest Form and return to the school by Wednesday 4th December. Option blocks and application forms will be available from mid December.  Completed application forms should be returned to the school by Monday 27th January 2020.

Timeline

Thursday 14 November 2019 - Into the Sixth Evening - 6.30 - 8pm,
Wednesday 4 December 2019 - Expressions of interest forms submitted and used to inform option blocks
Monday 27 January 2020 - Applications are submitted
February 2020 - Invitations to interviews
March / April 2020 - Interviews take place
May / June 2020 - GCSE exam period
Monday 6 July 2020 - Year 12 Induction Day for applicants
Thursday 20 August 2020 - GCSE Results Day and early enrolment for internal and external students
Friday 21, Saturday 22 August – Enrolment for internal and external students
Wednesday 3 September 2020 - Year 12 transition day

Summer Work

Following Induction Day in July, students will be required to complete Summer Work to support the transition from Year 11 to Year 12. Summer Work will be set for each subject and should be completed by students either over the summer holiday or within the first two weeks of September. Summer Work completion enables students to begin developing independence and can demonstrate commitment to, and passion for, their new courses.

16-19 Bursary

Sixth Form students at John Colet School who are experiencing financial constraints are able to apply for a bursary to support their time in our Sixth Form subject to meeting certain criteria.
